Hope as an Anchor
Reading: Hebrews 6:19-20; 10:23
Devotional:
Hope isn't a parachute you grab while falling—it's an anchor that holds you steady in the storm. Biblical hope isn't wishful thinking or positive vibes; it's "an expectation and a strong expression of faith." When you anchor yourself to Christ, no storm can move you. The waves may crash, the boat may rock, you might get soaked—but you remain fastened to the immovable Rock. This is what the unbelieving world desperately needs to see: Christians who remain anchored when everything falls apart. When your house burns down, when you lose a loved one, when sickness invades—and you still praise Jesus—people notice. They ask, "What is wrong with them?" The answer: nothing is wrong. Everything is right because your hope isn't in circumstances; it's in Christ. Hebrews 10:23 commands us to "hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise." Grip that anchor with everything you have. Let nothing come between you and Jesus. Your unshakeable hope in the storm becomes a lighthouse for others drowning in despair.
