Breaking Free from Anger’s Chains

Reading: Ephesians 4:26-27, Psalm 37:8, James 1:19-20

Devotional:
Anger isolates us from the very community God designed for our healing. While Scripture acknowledges we may experience anger, it warns us not to let it take root. The question isn't whether we feel angry, but what we do with that emotion. Righteous anger should move us toward compassionate action, not bitter isolation.

When we justify constant anger, we give the enemy a foothold in our lives. We withdraw from relationships, convinced our fury is justified, while loneliness grows. God calls us to be slow to anger because He knows it destroys the connections we desperately need.

Today, examine what anger you're holding. Is it driving you toward loving action or pushing you into isolation? Surrender that anger to God and ask Him to transform it into compassion that draws you closer to His people.
