The Command That Has Always Been

Reading: 1 John 2:7-8; Matthew 22:37-39
Devotional: Love is not a new idea God introduced through Jesus. It has been His nature from the very beginning. In Matthew 22, Jesus summarizes that the greatest commandments are to love God completely and to love your neighbor as yourself. John echoes this truth, reminding believers that the light of Christ is already shining and the darkness is passing away. When the Holy Spirit lives in us, love is not optional — it is the natural outflow of His presence. As the world grows darker and more divided, the church is called to be a community where love is unmistakable and undeniable.
Personal Reflection: How does your love for God directly influence how you love the people around you each day?
