From Knowing About Him to Knowing Him
Reading:
“Jesus spoke these things; and raising His eyes to heaven, He said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify Your Son, so that the Son may glorify You, just as You gave Him authority over all mankind, so that to all whom You have given Him, He may give eternal life. And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.”
John 17:1-3
“One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord And to meditate in His temple.”
Psalm 27:4
Devotional: There's a profound difference between knowing facts about someone and truly knowing them. You might know statistics about your favorite athlete, but that doesn't mean you have a relationship with them. Jesus defines eternal life not as mere knowledge about God, but as intimately knowing Him. Like David, who desired one thing above all—to dwell in God's presence—we're invited beyond information into relationship. Today, ask yourself: Do I know about God, or do I truly know Him? God doesn't want you to memorize facts about His character; He wants you to experience His presence. He's waiting for you to move from the classroom of theology into the living room of intimacy, where Father and child simply enjoy being together.
