When Questions Don't Mean Doubt

Reading: Habakkuk 1:1-4; 3:17-19
Devotional: Habakkuk cried out to God with raw honesty: "How long, Lord? Do you not hear me?" This prophet didn't hide his confusion or pain. Yet his story doesn't end in despair. By chapter three, though circumstances hadn't changed, Habakkuk declared, "Yet I will triumph in the Lord." Authentic faith allows space for hard questions. God isn't threatened by your confusion or frustration. What matters is where those questions lead you. Will they drive you away from God or deeper into trust? Habakkuk chose trust even when answers didn't come. His faith wasn't fraudulent because he questioned—it was authentic because he ultimately surrendered. You can bring your hardest questions to God and still maintain unwavering faith in His goodness.
Reflection Question: What question are you afraid to ask God? Bring it to Him today with honest trust.
