Daily Devotion 10/20/2026

Reading: 1 John 2:3-4; James 4:17
Devotional: It is possible to speak the language of faith without living its reality. John draws a direct line between genuinely knowing Christ and keeping his commandments. This is not a works-based salvation -- it is the fruit of a real encounter with a living God. James reinforces this by reminding us that knowing the right thing and refusing to do it is itself sin. Obedience is not the ladder we climb to earn God's love. It is the evidence that his love has genuinely taken root inside us. A faith that changes nothing about how you live should be examined carefully.
Reflection: Is there a commandment you are aware of but have been quietly setting aside? What has that cost you spiritually?
Practical Application: Read one chapter of the Gospel of John today and identify one specific instruction Jesus gives. Commit to applying it this week.
