The Advocate Who Stands for You

Reading: 1 John 2:1-2
Devotional: There is a moment in every honest believer's life when the weight of personal failure feels unbearable. You know what you did. God knows what you did. And yet, standing before the Father on your behalf is Jesus Christ -- not minimizing your guilt, but absorbing it entirely. He does not argue that you are innocent. He declares that the price has been paid. This is not a license to continue sinning. It is the most sobering act of love imaginable. When you truly grasp what your advocate surrendered for you, the natural response is not comfort in continued sin -- it is transformation.
Reflection: Do you treat grace as a safety net beneath your sin, or as the motivation to rise above it?
Practical Application: Write down one area of sin you have been excusing. Bring it honestly before God today, acknowledging both your guilt and his provision.
