Daily Devotion 10/05/2026

Reading: John 1:1-5 — The opening of John's Gospel declares that the Word existed before creation, was present with God, and is God himself. All things came into being through him, and in him is life and light that no darkness can overcome.
Devotional: John opens his letter by anchoring everything in an unchanging truth: Jesus was there at the beginning. He was not invented by desperate people in a dark moment. He was not a good idea that someone came up with. He is eternal. He is God. When life grows uncertain and the storms arrive — and they will arrive — this truth becomes an anchor. Your Savior did not appear out of nowhere. He stepped out of eternity into time, into flesh, into suffering, specifically for you. That is not a small thing. Begin each day this week by pausing to acknowledge who Jesus actually is before you ask him for anything. Let the weight of his eternal nature settle over you before the noise of the day begins.
Reflection Question: How does knowing that Jesus existed before creation change the way you approach him in your daily life?
Practical Application: Before checking your phone or beginning your morning routine, take two minutes to simply acknowledge who Jesus is. Speak it aloud if you are able.
