The Danger of a Divided Heart

Reading: Matthew 6:19-24; Colossians 3:1-4

Devotional: A divided heart is one of the most dangerous conditions a believer can live in. It creates the illusion of faithfulness while quietly serving two masters. Pastor Charlie described it plainly: one foot in the church, one foot in the world. Matthew 6 reminds us that where our treasure is, there our heart will also be. This is not merely about money. It is about attention, affection, and allegiance. What receives the best of your time and energy? Colossians calls believers to set their minds on things above. A heart fully surrendered to God leaves no room for the world to take up residence.

Reflection: If someone examined how you spend your time and money this past month, what would they conclude you treasure most?

Application: Conduct a simple audit of your weekly schedule. Identify where God is given the least amount of your time and make one intentional adjustment to honor him more fully.
