Reading: John 7:37-38

Devotional: John 7:38 describes the believer as someone from whom rivers of living water flow continually -- not occasionally, not when circumstances are favorable, but continually. The condition attached to this promise is trust. Adhering to, relying on, and abiding in Jesus is what keeps the water flowing. It is easy to trust God when life is steady, but the invitation here is to trust him when everything feels uncertain. You were not designed to generate your own peace or manufacture your own strength. You were designed to be a vessel that stays connected to the source. Stay connected. The river does not stop flowing just because your season is hard.

Reflection: In what area of your life are you trying to generate strength on your own instead of drawing from God?
