Recognizing Your Thirst

Reading: John 4:13-14

Devotional: Jesus told the woman at the well that everyone who drinks ordinary water will grow thirsty again -- but the water he gives becomes an internal spring that never runs dry. This is not a promise for someday. It is a promise for right now, in the middle of your dry season. Before you can receive what God offers, you have to honestly acknowledge that you are thirsty. Busyness, social media, and constant noise are not hydration -- they are substitutes that stain rather than satisfy. Today, pause long enough to name what is draining you. Thirst is not a sign of failure. It is an invitation.

Reflection: What have you been reaching for lately instead of reaching for God?

Practical Application: Set one alarm today for a 60-second pause. Use that minute to sit quietly and acknowledge your need for God. No agenda. Just honesty.
