Reading: Galatians 5:22-23
Devotional: Self-control is listed as fruit of the Spirit—not fruit of human effort. This reveals a profound truth: genuine self-control flows from surrender to God's Spirit. When we abide in Christ, His character naturally produces itself in us. Stop fighting in your own strength. Instead, cultivate your relationship with Jesus through prayer, Scripture, and worship. As you draw near to Him, the Spirit grows self-control in you like fruit on a vine. You cannot manufacture it, but you can position yourself to receive it. Today, replace striving with abiding. Spend time in God's presence, asking Him to produce His fruit in you. Trust that what you cannot accomplish through willpower, He will grow through His power.
