Love That Surpasses All
Reading: Luke 14:25-33; John 15:9-17
Devotional: Jesus' words about "hating" family seem harsh until we understand His point: our love for Him should be so complete that every other love pales in comparison. This isn't about rejecting relationships, but about proper priorities. When Christ becomes our ultimate love, everything else finds its rightful place. He calls us friends—not servants—if we obey His commands. This friendship comes with extraordinary blessings: peace, joy, hope, guidance, and eternal life with Him. But friendship with Jesus requires wholehearted devotion. We cannot compartmentalize our faith, trusting Him with some areas while controlling others. He gave His life for us; He asks for our complete surrender in return. Reflect on your loves today. Does anything compete with your devotion to Christ? Realign your heart to love Him first and foremost.
