Reading: Proverbs 3:5-6; Isaiah 26:3-4
Devotional: Trusting God means releasing control of our carefully constructed plans and embracing His wisdom over our own understanding. Solomon's instruction to "not lean on your own understanding" challenges our self-reliance. We naturally want to figure things out, to see the complete picture before we step forward. But God calls us to something deeper—a heartfelt reliance on His wisdom even when circumstances seem uncertain. This isn't intellectual agreement; it's surrendering control in the moments when we don't know how things will end. Like walking through a "lake of poo," as the sermon described, God transforms our messes into opportunities for growth. Today, identify one area where you're relying on your own logic instead of God's guidance. Commit it to Him, trusting that He is your everlasting rock.
