The Foundation of Real Faith

Reading: Hebrews 11:1-6
Devotional: Faith isn't a flimsy thread we hope will hold—it's an anchor rope, thick and unbreakable. The writer of Hebrews defines faith as "certainty of things hoped for, a proof of things not seen." This isn't wishful thinking or positive vibes; it's confident trust in God's character and promises. Like the anchor rope on a massive ship, true faith holds firm even when storms rage. Today, examine your faith. Is it built on feelings that fluctuate, or on the unchanging nature of God? Real faith doesn't deny difficulty—it trusts God through it. Your salvation doesn't rest on your performance but on God's grace received through faith. This is the gift that cannot be earned, only received.
Reflection Question: What are you anchoring your faith to—circumstances or God's character?
