When God's Ways Don't Make Sense

Reading: Isaiah 55:8-9; Romans 11:33-36

Devotional:
God used a storm, a fish, a plant, a worm, and scorching wind to accomplish His purposes in Jonah's life. His methods rarely match our expectations. We want the direct route, the easy answer, the comfortable path. But God sees the complete picture while we see only fragments. His ways aren't just slightly higher than ours—they're as far above us as the heavens are above the earth. This isn't meant to frustrate us but to free us from the burden of needing to understand everything. You don't have to comprehend God's entire plan to trust His heart. When you're holding the messy backside of the needlepoint, remember that God sees the beautiful design on the other side. Surrender your need to understand and choose to trust the One who does.

Reflection:
What situation are you trying to control instead of surrendering to God's higher wisdom?
