Dealing with the Worms in Your Life
Reading: Jonah 4:6-11; Hebrews 12:5-11
Devotional:
God sent a worm to destroy Jonah's shade-giving plant, creating discomfort that would drive him to obedience. What "worm" is God allowing in your life right now? Perhaps it's a persistent conviction about unforgiveness, a nagging call to reconcile a relationship, or discomfort with a sin you've been tolerating. God cares more about your obedience and spiritual growth than your temporary comfort. He'll allow things to "wither" in your life—not to be cruel, but to get your attention. That restlessness you feel isn't random; it's divine intentionality. God may be removing your self-made shade so you'll finally turn to Him as your true shelter. Don't ignore the worm. Ask God what He's trying to teach you through the discomfort.
Reflection:
What area of disobedience might God be addressing through current discomfort in your life?
