The tax collector's honest confession—"God, be merciful to me, the sinner"—is what moves God's heart. True self-control begins with honest self-assessment. Stop pretending you have it all together. Where are you deceiving yourself about your spiritual health? What struggle are you hiding behind religious activity? Humble confession opens the door to genuine transformation.
