Devotional:
King Herod's response to Jesus' birth reveals what happens when we refuse to surrender our throne. He chose control over submission, fear over faith, and ultimately violence over worship. The Magi, however, traveled far to bow before the King of Kings. Today, examine who sits on the throne of your heart. Is it Jesus, or have you kept certain areas under your own rule? Like Herod, we can appear religious while desperately clinging to control. But true faith means surrendering everything—your plans, your reputation, your comfortable sins. The Magi left their treasures at Jesus' feet. What treasure are you withholding? Authentic worship begins when we dethrone ourselves and crown Christ as Lord of all.
